Emblems Counselor Information for Scouts

You must work with a Certified Religious Emblems Counselor to earn a Boy Scout or Venture Religious Emblem.  If your troop does not have a counselor, you may e-mail to have a counselor contact you

Emblems Counselor Training 

Catholic Counselors must be trained by the Milwaukee Archdiocese Catholic Committee on Scouting.  

You must be a practicing Roman Catholic to attend and become certified

You must be a registered Boy Scout Leader

You must complete Boy Scout Youth Protection

You must have an application on file with the Archdiocese of Milwaukee.  The application is good for three years.

You must be registered to lead groups or purchase medals.

There is no cost for the training but you must register in advance

Emblems Counselor Recertification

Catholic Counselors must be re-trained by the Milwaukee Archdiocese Catholic Committee on Scouting every three years. 

If you have been trained within the past three years, you may attend another training session or attend the Religious Emblems Counselor Forum.  The first Forum will be held in Spring of 2008. Stay tuned for an announcement when the dates are finalized.

Cub Scout Emblems Coordinator

You may indicate on your application that you are willing to serve as a Cub Scout Emblems Coordinator.  Your training enables you to do coordination as well.
